Memorial Day Weekend is a celebrated holiday in cities all over the country, but in Indianapolis, it takes on even more importance. The last Sunday of every May is reserved for the Indianapolis 500, the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” Hosted at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway just outside of Indianapolis in Speedway, Indiana, the Indianapolis 500, or Indy 500 as it’s often referred, is the largest one-day Sporting Event in the world, drawing upwards of 400,000 spectators on Race Day.
