2012 Chicago Cubs Tickets

The Cubs play their home games in the Chicago, Illinois at historic Wrigley Field. Built in 1914, the Cubs have been playing at “The Friendly Confines” since 1916, making the park the second oldest active ballpark in MLB. New manager Mike Quade takes for over the departed Lou Piniella, and is trying to get the back the team back to the World Series for the first time since 1945. Helping the cause will be youngster Starlin Castro, and mainstays such as Aramis Ramirez, Carlos Marmol, Geovany Soto, and Carlos Zambrano. In what promises to be an exciting and hard-fought season, the Chicago Cubs are hoping their luck changes, and they’re able to finally call themselves World Series champs at the end of the 2011 MLB Season.

After winning the NL Central two years in a row, the Chicago Cubs have failed to make the playoffs each of the past two seasons, finishing a disappointing fifth place in 2010, compiling only 75 wins against 87 losses. Despite the down year, expectation remain high on Chicago’s north side, as they always for the team who hasn’t won a World Series title in 102 years.

Most of the main components from 2010 lineup return to the team, including Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, Geovany Soto and Marlon Byrd. Young shortstop Starlin Castro is expected to man the top spot in the batting order, and newly added first baseman Carlos Pena will add some much needed pop to the middle of the lineup. The pitching rotation is headlined by Ryan Dempster, Carlos Zambrano and Matt Garza, and the bullpen is solid with Carlos Marmol and Kerry Wood set to close out games.

Broad Ripple has many different bars, for lots of different people.  The area should not just be associated with early 20′s bars, dance clubs.  There is a bar in Broad Ripple for just about everyone, every occasion and every mood. Some visitors head to the Ripple early and others prefer the late night feel.  The bars close at 3 AM every night of the week, except Sunday when closing time is Midnight.

1. The defense on Derrick Rose needs to be intensified even more. Paul George and Dahntay Jones have done an outstanding job on the MVP the past two games, holding him to 10-of-40 from the field, and just 3-of-15 behind the arc. He suffered a sprained ankle in Game Four, and while he’ll undoubtedly suit up, he probably won’t be at 100-percent. Knowing that, the Pacers must force the action even more, constantly pressuring and double-teaming Rose, and forcing him into uncharacteristic turnovers and long jump shots. It’s a hard task, to be sure, but the most necessary one for the Pacers to secure another victory.

2. Get the ball to Roy Hibbert on the post. Big Roy was finally a factor last game, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Pacers continually looked to him in the post, and Roy responded by finishing strong around the basket, and getting Chicago’s post players into foul trouble. When Hibbert is involved down low, it opens up the entire offense, and gives the Pacers space to shoot the three-ball. And the more effective he is on the offensive end, the more Hibbert becomes involved defensively, where his extreme length continually forces tough shots in the paint for Rose and company.

3. Someone unexpected has to step up. If Indiana relies solely on Danny Granger, Darren Collison and Hibbert to score the majority of their points, they’ll be in trouble. If, however, Tyler Hansbrough, Paul George, Josh McRoberts, or Mike Dunleavy/Brandon Rush can step up and be a consistent offensive weapon for the entirety of the game, it will stretch the Bulls defense perilously thin, and provide even more space for the big three to create points.

If all three of those things happen, and the team can keep up the same intensity level they’ve displayed through the first four games, Pacers fans may want to go ahead and purchase tickets for Game Six, because the Blue-and-Gold will be returning home to Indianapolis with more basketball left to play.
