The line was definitely daunting. Thankfully it moved quite fast and even though we were seemingly a 1/4 mile away from the entrance when we started it was only about 10-15 minutes until we gained entry.

The show was enjoyable BTW and the primo seating above the stage was easily accessible once the usher went for his ciggie break. The dancers were pretty flaky but didn't distract from the music and performance. The whole weird beard feel of the show was fun overall. Glad we didn't let the long line keep us from the proceedings.

I can understand the frustration with the long line. Luckily I actually planned ahead and got my tickets when I got there slightly early like any sensible person would. My date and I took our seats around 8:20 even though the doors weren't supposed to open until 30 after. Sufjan's opening act was a member of his band DM Stith, who preformed a fantastic 4 song set. I talked with a friend of mine on my phone when Stith finished and he said he'd been in line for awhile but he managed to get to his front row seat just as Sufjan was taking the stage (lucky bastard).

Anyway, will call was somehow able to get nearly everyone inside before Sufjan took the stage around 9:40 (a nice feat if the line was as long as you say it was). It seemed as though almost every seat was filled as the show started.

He did put on a fantastic show in my opinion, not only musically but also performance-wise. He played until 11:50 and included some talking segments. Easily the best performance I've seen, even though I've seen Bob Dylan, Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists and others who are somewhat known. Definitely worth some searching on youtube for some videos.
