Though gasoline prices have gone down some since 2008, there is always a great possibility of another increase. While we hope this doesn’t occur anytime soon, there is nothing wrong with saving even more money by making our car more efficient. Just by incorporating a little change in habits can save some bucks!
- Turn idling engine off
- Keep tires properly inflated
- Coast to a stop, or red light, as opposed to slamming the breaks
- Purchase gas during the coolest part of the day when gasoline is at its densest
- Combine errands. This will also save time from making unnecessary trips to the store, etc.
- Drive light: Avoid loading trunk, or back seat, down with “stuff”
- Tightly cap the gas tank. (America loses 147 million gallons of gas annually to vaporization, from loosely tank caps
Changing a few habits, will not only save money, but will make a positive impact on the environment.

Getting a drivers license is one of the most exciting times for a teenager. Parents are anxious for many reasons during this time. Adding a new teen driver to the household policy can increase insurance costs dramatically, not to mention the ongoing concern for safety. Unfortunately, car accidents are the leading cause of teenage deaths. In 2008 AAA found that teen auto accidents costs consumers more than $34 billion. While keeping your kid safe, what do you do to keep premiums cheap?
- Multi-Policy Discount: Having your homeowners, and auto policies under the same umbrella can bring some savings. With most insurance companies, the longer you are a policy holder, the better you rates can be.
- Good Grades: If your student is getting good grades, you may be able to catch a break on your insurance rates. Check with your insurance company to find out if they offer a discount for having good grades.
- Liability Only: If the household hooptie is the designated vehicle for your teenager, consider a liability only policy. When he value of an insured vehicle is minimal, liability insures the other party is covered if anything happens.
- Higher Deductible: Raising comp/coll from $500 to $1000 will substantially decrease change your your premiums.
Other things to consider are discounts for safety features, and going green. In addition, encouraging safe driving habits is vital to keep the cost of auto insurance low overall.

Now that social media is no longer a secret, everyone from freelancers to small business, and large organizations have positioned themselves to become a part of what the world is talking about. Social media is nothing new really. It has just taken on a character that is encouraging the “ah-ha, what a good this can be”! But how can I use it? Good question.
For many, social media can be difficult to pinpoint. Using publishing vehicles such as, the internet, newspapers, magazines, and video are important and have different meanings for the masses. Integrating platforms to connect and foster relationships for growth while offering value is key. Yes, offer. Everyone has something to contribute. By doing this you are opening the doors to possibilities for the new, improved, and innovative. Can you imagine doing this with a closed mind? Neither can I.
The obvious ways are through some of the leading social networking sites such as Twitter, StumbleUpon, Facebook, MySpace, FriendFeed, Friendster, Orkut, Bebo, and hundreds of others like these. There are also sites specifically for businesses and entrepreneurs to connect such as LinkedIn, Ryze, PartnerUp, Biznik, Focus, Young Entrpreneurs, Fast Pitch, and Entrepreneur Connect. Despite the recent recall hysteria, hybrid cars have a loyal fan base that is growing. This is happening with good reason. Saving the environment is still priority. As technology continues to advance, and deliver the bells and whistles we want for using our cell phones, GPS, and even texting, working toward a greener environment has not taken a back seat.
More cars are competing for the best in fuel efficiency, and lower emissions, than before. You use to see only small compact vehicles aiming for the top spot, until now. Mid-size, SUV’s, and trucks are available in hybrid models.
Named North American Car of the Year, the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, has component function monitoring and can go up to 47mph in electric mode. The Smart Gauge with Eco-Guide coaches you on how to get the best fuel economy. Now that’s good looking out!

The more I check out the new Ford Fiesta for 2011, I am truly impressed. For those of you that remember the original Ford Fiesta “back in the day”, it was nothing extravagant just a standard compact vehicle. Since I’m tall, there was not much thought put into it. Well I must admit things are looking different.
This summer the 2011 Ford Fiesta will arrive in the United States. It is already getting great reviews, and I am not surprised. This ride is not arriving on the scene shy. It’s definitely a looker appealing to generation-x, raising the brow of baby-boomers, and many in between. But it is more than just the looks that is causing a stir.
Projected best in its class for fuel economy, you will agree that 30city-40hwy is superb. The six speed auto-transmission has plenty of horse power to keep moving, while handling well. Fiesta has already been put to the test with over a million miles on the road, so no stone has been left unturned for the anticipated debut.
When it comes to safety, Ford is the leading innovator putting it at the top of the priority list. The only subcompact in its class to have seven airbags, that includes a standard driver’s knee airbag, and side curtain airbags. It provides plenty of room for essentials of any lifestyle, and the best in technology with push-button start, available SYNC, and LCD display. The Fiesta comes in a variety of colors, and several choices of interior. Hanging with the big dogs, this new subcompact is no puppy.
