Broad Ripple has many different bars, for lots of different people. The area should not just be associated with early 20′s bars, dance clubs. There is a bar in Broad Ripple for just about everyone, every occasion and every mood. Some visitors head to the Ripple early and others prefer the late night feel. The bars close at 3 AM every night of the week, except Sunday when closing time is Midnight.
Finding a cab after the bars close is always easy as several will be waiting outside the bars on Broad Ripple Avenue. If you leave on the weekend at closing time, you might want to assume you might have to wait up to 10 minutes in order to catch a ride.

Its Halloween week and you are probably thinking about what you dressing up as this weekend, or maybe what your kids are dressing up as. In Broad Ripple local businesses have to prepare adequately for the surge in traffic.
Halloween is one of the busiest nights in the Ripple each year and 2010 could actually provide what might seem like 2 nights of Halloween as the bars are bound to be packed on Saturday the 30th and then again when it is actually Halloween.
If you are visiting the area please act responsibly and expect there to be sobriety checkpoints. The best bet in preparation for a visit to BR this weekend is just take a cab both ways and parking and then general craziness of the evening will make it tough to get in and out of the area.
There are some other things going on in town this weekend such as the Saturday evening concert at Verizon Wireless featuring the Insane Clown Posse, also Saturday night is the Indiana Pacers home opener at Conseco Fieldhouse Downtown, as far a Halloween itself you can catch Bob Dylan at the Murat Theatre.
No matter what you decide to do to entertain yourself this weekend make sure to plan ahead and be safe!

Locals Only is an awesome music venue located at 56th and Keystone in Indianapolis. It hosts several great shows by local bands and comedians, as well as national acts. You can eat there, too! Their bar is stocked with great beers, wines, liquor, and sake; and you can find sandwiches, pizza or appetizers to fill you up.
One of Locals Only’s best attributes is their support of local talent. On Wednesday nights around 8 pm, local musician Jethro Easyfields hosts an open mic for musicians. Although they welcome everyone, they encourage you to bring your original material. Stop by on Wednesday nights to sign up.
And if you’re a comedian, check the web site for their open comedy mic show where you can get up and test out your new material. Or, if you think you’re funny, and you’ve never performed, head to Locals Only and let the crowd decide.

The Broad Ripple Brewpub was the first Brewpub and one of the oldest microbreweries in Indiana. Nuvo and Indianapolis Monthly have awarded this brewery Best Brewpub voted by readers every year since 1996. In my opinion I always seem to enjoy myself when attending The Broad Ripple Brewpub. I have found their food to be very diverse and very vegetarian friendly. Besides the great food and service their beer stands alone and promises to keep your pallet happy while exploring the different flavors this local Brewpub have to offer!
